Private day tours by car from Rome

One of our English-speaking drivers will pick you up from the lobby of your hotel in Rome and will be at your disposal throughout the day.

You can choose a start time that is convenient for you, between 7 and 9am.

First destination is Pompeii, a long drive down the motorway/freeway from Rome.

Your driver will make sure you pass through the most interesting places, so you don't miss any highlights along the way.

At Pompeii you have the freedom to explore independently, hire an audio guide or we can arrange a private guided tour.

And of course you can stay at Pompeii as long as you require and continue onwards immediately after you exit the Pompeii site.

In the afternoon you head to the nearby dramatic Amalfi coast line.

The road along the south coast is beautiful, one of the finest drives in the world. Positano is one of the favourite places to stay and explore for a while.

Sorrento at the end of the peninsula is the largest town for visitors at the centre of an orange growing district.

The same format and flexibility as the Pompeii, Positano and Sorrento tour above, but instead of going south we go north to Florence.

Florence, the historic Renaissance city is home to the Uffizi Gallery and the Accademia Gallery, where so many wonderful pieces of art are on display, and some well known attractions of Florence include the cathedral and Palazzo Vecchio.

Your day in Florence is fully under your control.

You can include a scenic orientation drive through the city so you can appreciate the beautiful architecture and attractions in full.

If you prefer to spend time experiencing la dolce vita alone you could explore the winding streets and alleyways, take a peek at the ancient city walls and sip coffee at one of the pretty pavement cafés within the ancient squares of Florence.

Your driver will drop you off at a convenient location and arrange to collect you from a pre-arranged point at a later time.

You may prefer to book a private tour guide in advance as part of the tour to ensure you visit the most popular and historic city sights with tickets for the Uffizi Gallery and Accademia Gallery, saving you wasting any time in long queues.

The same format and flexibility as the two tours to Pompeii and Florence but with a travel time of under an hour between Tivoli and Rome, therefore a shorter time travelling before sightseeing.

This is a delightful excursion to the hillside town of Tivoli with the breathtaking water gardens at Villa d'Este and the amazing Villa Adriana.

The first stop can be Villa Adriana, it was a complex of over thirty buildings constructed during the second and third decades of the II A.D. by the Emperor Hadrian. He enjoyed the villa very much and for many years he governed the empire from this retreat.

The other famous villa Villa d’Este was built in 1550 as a summer residence by Cardinal Ippolito II d'Este and contains hundreds of gurgling fountains driven only by the natural pressure of the water. Set among a stunning backdrop of box hedge gardens and mazes, they are the major attraction.
