Although Florence has its own airport quite close to the city of Florence, air services are restricted.
Much busier is Pisa Airport, 85km (50 miles) from Florence. Pisa Airport to/from Florence by train and PisaMover
Pisa Airport is close to the city of Pisa with the famous Leaning Tower.
The PisaMover, is a relatively new high-speed automated vehicle that connects Pisa Airport with the central station, taking just five minutes and running every day from 6am to midnight.
From Pisa Station there are frequent local trains to Florence Santa Maria Novella (SMN) train station. Travel time ranges from 50 minutes to 1 hr- 20 minutes. Tickets can be purchased from Trenitalia in advance, or from within the airport once you get there.

Florence Amerigo Vespucci Airport - just 4km from Florence city centre
The official airport for Florence is located just 4km (2.5 miles) from the centre of Florence, "Amerigo Vespucci" as it is known, is a small airport with a relatively restricted route network.
For the transfer between Florence airport and the city centre, you have three main choices. In order of price, lowest cost is a scheduled bus service called Volainbus that runs to a bus station close to the main railway station in Florence, Santa Maria Novella (SMN).
There is also a shared van shuttle and taxi/private car service that both provide door to door service to and from your Central Florence hotel.
