As the case with most global chain hotels in Rome, Marriott hotels tend to be away from the city centre.
The only Marriott hotel in Rome City Centre is the luxury Rome Marriott Grand Hotel Flora at the top of the Via Veneto.
This area is a swanky district around the exclusive shopping and nightlife of the Via Veneto, overlooking the Villa Borghese parkland.
The top of the Via Veneto is where you find many of the most expensive hotels in Rome for which you pay a sizable premium.
The two 'mainstream' Marriott hotels - Courtyard by Marriott Rome Central Park, and Rome Marriott Park Hotel are outside the City of Rome itself, and as a consequence are notably cheaper than the more central Marriott hotels. Marriott Park Hotel Rome is superbly located for Fiumicino Airport, just minutes by taxi.
If you do select a hotel outside the centre, do factor in the time and/or expense of getting to the main sights.
At these non central Rome hotels you get good rates for the facilities here and you are also well away from the noise and bustle of the city itself.
Both of these Marriotts operate shuttles into city centre so you are not stranded, but you still have to arrange your itinerary around shuttle schedules.
