Best budget hotels in Rome

Hand picked hotels with a bias toward value for money in Rome

Best Buy Hotels Rome

Every week we review the best value hotel accommodation in Rome in all sectors of the market. Then we hand pick some suggestions for you to benchmark against.

There is no 'best' hotel or 'best' district to stay in, there are better districts than others for your own individual preferences and budget.

The choices here are driven from the perspective of the leisure traveller looking for value for money.

As a result many of the choices are around Termini Station, the most competitively priced district in the centre of Rome through intense competition.

Being based at Termini means you have the best transport connections, both to get around the city and to get to your flight or train when leaving.

In terms of logistics, ease of visiting Rome's main sights and transfers to the airports, cruise ports and inter-city trains Termini is the best hotel district to base yourself in Rome.

We also have a few choices a little away from the centre, but all are by a metro station so you can be in the centre of the city within 20 minutes. This way you do not pay the sometimes substantial price premium of staying in the centre, getting a much more comfortable hotel than you could get for the same money in the city centre.

Room rates are highly seasonal in Rome, so depending how far forward you are looking, the prices can be radically different.

We have supplemental pages for single rooms in Rome and family rooms for 3 or more people on our family rooms in Rome pages.
